Safeguard

Patch of grass

In the city,

where I hide

kids cut loose

on blades of grass

Where the daisies dare not grow.

But beyond the bitter weeds

Lies beyond their years

A patch of dirt

That speaks to me

It whispers the melody

Of daffodils who will love again

Of daphne who will live forever

Of dandelions that cannot be blown away

More to Love

Silence feels safe but builds quiet distance
