Our Mission
At A Tiger Cub, our mission is to create opportunities for connection, belonging, and community through shared experiences, meaningful conversations, and cultural exchange.
We believe connection is not something that simply exists. It is built intentionally, over time, through small, meaningful moments. Yet many people lose these structures after major life transitions like college, moving to a new city, or entering a new stage of life. We believe people should not only find connection again, but play a central role in creating it.
Through community-led events, storytelling initiatives, and thoughtfully designed experiences, we create spaces where strangers can become friends and conversations feel open, honest, and welcoming. At the same time, we provide young people with structure, purpose, and a clear role in contributing to something larger than themselves.
We equip emerging community builders to host gatherings, support local communities and businesses, foster meaningful relationships, and actively reimagine what connection looks like in modern life.
Culture remains an important part of this work, but so do friendship, curiosity, belonging, and the collective growth of our communities.
We believe connection is built in everyday moments, and we focus on developing both the people and the platforms that make those moments possible.
Our Vision
We envision a future where people feel deeply connected to their communities, their culture, and one another.
A future where connection is not left to chance or slowly lost over time, but intentionally built and sustained through shared experiences, meaningful relationships, and spaces where people belong.
A future where young people are not just searching for community, but stepping into clear roles as community builders, creating opportunities for connection that they themselves may not have had.
A future where friendships flourish, stories are shared, local communities are strengthened, and people have meaningful ways to connect with both where they come from and where they are today.
A future where connection is not something people search for, but something they actively create together.
The Pillars
Leadership
We empower the next generation of community builders. Through hands-on opportunities to host events, lead initiatives, and bring people together, we help young people create the communities they wish existed.
Community
We create spaces where people can meet, build meaningful relationships, and find a sense of belonging. Whether you’re new to a city or looking to deepen your connections, we believe everyone deserves a community they can call their own.
Storytelling & Culture
We celebrate the stories, traditions, and perspectives that shape who we are. Through storytelling, cultural experiences, and creative expression, we help people better understand themselves and one another.
Experiences
We design memorable experiences that bring people together around shared interests, curiosity, and fun. From food and culture to creativity and conversation, our events are built to spark genuine connection.
From The Founder
I was born Eric Luntian Chang on June 4, 2003. I am 23 years old, currently in Atlanta, often sitting in a small apartment surrounded by half-finished ideas, open tabs, and thoughts that drift far beyond my computer science degree. I did not set out to be a writer, storyteller, or founder. Most days, I am still figuring things out as I go.
I am the son of two first-generation immigrants who came to the United States with little more than hope, persistence, and a belief that things could be better for their children. They built a life through sacrifice. I grew up shaped by both their brilliance and their blind spots. By their warmth and their silences. By the lessons they passed down and the ones they never had the language to explain.
As I grew older, I began noticing patterns. Not just in my own family, but everywhere around me. Friends moved to new cities and struggled to find community. People longed for deeper friendships but did not know where to start. Communities felt increasingly fragmented. Everyone seemed connected to everything, yet disconnected from one another.
That realization eventually became A Tiger Cub.
At first, I turned to storytelling. Bojji was one way of exploring identity, family, culture, and the quiet moments that shape who we become. Through stories, I began asking questions about connection, belonging, and what it means to truly understand another person.
Over time, those questions grew beyond storytelling.
What began as a creative project became a community. A Tiger Cub now brings people together through shared experiences, meaningful conversations, and opportunities to build genuine relationships. From cultural events and community dinners to creative gatherings and local initiatives, our goal is simple: help people find their people.
At the heart of it all is a belief that connection does not happen by accident. It is created by people willing to show up, bring others together, and build the communities they wish existed.
A Tiger Cub is still growing, just like me. Maybe that is the point. Community is never finished. It is something we create together, one conversation, one gathering, and one relationship at a time.
