Dangerous Flower

The botanical garden lies just a few blocks away

from my home.

A sanctuary for bright reds, blues, and greens,

like a child’s dreamscape painted in wild strokes.

But as colors meld into shades of black and brown,

So too do painted petals in the face of wind

As I lose myself in their allure.

Time slips away unnoticed,

In the quiet bloom of endless seasons.

More to Love

Silence feels safe but builds quiet distance
